Erectile Dysfunction

What is Shockwave Treatment for ED?

Sometimes referred to as GainsWave at other offices, shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction is a procedure in which energy from acoustic waves are used to target different areas of the penis to improve blood flow. The procedure causes new blood vessels to form in once-constricted areas, enhancing tissue growth to facilitate erectile function over an extended period of time.

Shockwave therapy uses non-invasive sound waves to increase blood flow in the penis and remove plaque. You can’t see or even feel much during the procedure. It’s simple, quick and pain-free.

Shockwave therapy will be applied to your skin, targeting different areas of the penis in order to open existing blood vessels that have become clogged as well as stimulating the growth of new blood vessels. This leads to an overall rejuvenation of erectile tissue.

ED treatments

The Priapus Shot®, (also known as the P-shot) is designed to deliver lasting improvements in sexual performance to men, especially those who have lost function from various causes.  The reasons can be varied and include but are not limited to an enlarged prostate, peyronie’s disease, prostate cancer, the after-effects of surgery, drug side effects and other conditions such as diabetes*.The Priapus Shot® procedure begins with a quick and easy blood draw. Then, using a proprietary technique, the growth factors are extracted from your blood and concentrated into the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). PRP is then placed into areas of the penis that are most important for the sexual response. These areas are numbed with a powerful local anesthetic cream before treatment, yielding little or no discomfort during the procedure.

Testosterone Therapy

Some men experience a condition called andropause, similar to menopause in women, which can be caused by low testosterone. The symptoms of male menopause:

  • Irritable Male Syndrome
  • Weight gain
  • Sleep apnea
  • Memory loss
  • Diminished libido
  • Hair Loss
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Hot Flashes
  • Muscle loss
  • Depression
  • Fatigue
  • Night Sweats in Men
  • Gynecomastia (male breasts)

Perhaps the best news for men is that while hormone imbalance may be a natural effect of aging, they are easily correctable. You don’t have to live with uncomfortable symptoms. Testosterone replacement therapy is a treatment for men with low testosterone who want to boost their health and overall well-being. However, it is important to remember that androgen replacement therapy is not a one-size-fits all solution. Each man’s anatomy and physiology is unique, so it is important that you discuss the benefits and risks of testosterone replacement with a qualified hormone therapy expert. With properly supervised treatment, you can experience a healthier, younger and more vital self*.

Oral medications (ED Pills)

Today, oral tablets are the most common ED treatment. VIAGRA is one of them. These tablets works only when you are sexually stimulated. For Viagra, take it about 1 hour before sexual activity. You may take VIAGRA between 30 minutes to 4 hours before sexual activity if needed. So don’t worry. There’s plenty of time to be spontaneous with your partner. For a man with ED, a harder erection can lead to a more satisfying sexual experience. When it comes to hardness, VIAGRA and others can help*.

Intra-urethral suppository (muse)

MUSE focuses its action directly at the penis. MUSE may be right for you because you have had undesired side effects from other ED drugs; you take nitrates; you have nerve damage, diabetes, or cardiovascular disease; or you have had prostate surgery. MUSE works in a different way than common oral medications for ED. MUSE is local therapy for ED that works by directly relaxing the muscles and opening the blood vessels in the penis that produce an erection. MUSE focuses its action directly at this target organ, and because of the way it is given it does not circulate widely throughout the body. As a result, local therapy may have the potential to limit some types of side effects.

Intranasal medications

Natesto™ is the first and only nasal testosterone replacement therapy approved by FDA United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Natesto™ (testosterone), formerly CompleoTRT™, the first and only testosterone nasal gel for replacement therapy in adult males for conditions associated with a deficiency or absence of endogenous testosterone. Natesto™ is self-administered via a nasal applicator thereby minimizing the risk of secondary exposure to testosterone of women or children.

Vacuum Erection Therapy (VED)

Vacuum Therapy is a simple means of producing an erection suitable for sexual intercourse. It does not require medication, injections, or surgery and is successful in treating Erectile Dysfunction due to virtually every underlying cause. An acrylic cylinder is placed over the penis and against the body. A vacuum is then created which draws blood into the penis. This increased blood flow produces enlargement and rigidity. A support ring is placed at the base of the penis in order to maintain the erection and the cylinder is then removed. The support ring will sustain an erection until it is removed. The ring may be safely left in place for up to 30 minutes*.

Vacuum therapy has become one of the most popular solutions to the problem of Erectile Dysfunction (ED). Hundreds of thousands of systems have been prescribed for men who prefer a safe and effective alternative to invasive or pharmaceutical treatments.

The satisfaction rate among men and their partners is very high. Studies published in the American and British Journals of Urology indicate some men are able to regain normal erections after the use of vacuum therapy. Vacuum therapy is the most affordable of all the major treatments for Erectile Dysfunction*

Intracavernous Pharmacotherapy (Caverject or Tri-Mix)

Considered a very effective treatment for Erectile Dysfunction, it is applied locally and is non-systemic and particularly useful for men who do not respond to well-known oral medications for ED such as Viagra. It can also be utilized in men with diabetes, heart conditions, high blood pressure or other illnesses.

This typically involves an injection of a combination of FDA-approved vasodilators into the spongy base of the penis. To make it simple one can utilize an auto-injector. This is an excellent choice for many men since penile injections are easily delivered into the penis. It assists in increasing as well as maintaining blood in the (spongy tissue filled with blood vessels within your penis) Corpora Cavernosa.

When properly instructed, most patients are able to sustain a rigid erection for about an hour during intercourse. During your first injection you may be nervous. But by a consultation with the doctor and through practice at home, penile injections will be as simple and effortless as you want it to be*.
